Education:
Texas A&M Univeristy (B.S. in Biochemistry, Minor in Business)
Teaching Experience:
For two years, Zachary volunteer-instructed a body of students ranging from elementary schoolers to those well into adulthood, and from this, he learned how different backgrounds, learning styles, and age groups require distinct teaching approaches and levels of communication. He also frequently assisted classmates in organic chemistry and biochemistry coursework, which strengthened his ability to break down challenging material and communicate effectively.
Teaching Philosophy:
"It is crucial to recognize that each individual learns and thinks differently, which makes empathy and adaptability necessary to a successful teaching approach. Most importantly, I believe that sparking authentic interest in seemingly abstract topics is essential for progress, and that requires a commitment to building genuine, meaningful connections with students so that we can better align their academic growth to their real passions.”
Interesting Fact: Zach has been playing a number of different instruments over the last ten years, and has very recently picked up guitar. His favorite artists right now are Deftones, Orion Sun, and Leon Thomas.
