Education:

University of Texas at Austin (B.A. in Race, Indigeneity, and Migration with Honors; Minors in Spanish and Studio Art)

Teaching/Counseling Experience:

For two years during her time at the University of Texas at Austin, Marianna worked as a writing consultant at the University Writing Center, one of the leading college writing centers in the US. There, she helped students with writing assignments ranging from lab reports to literary analysis to architectural research. As a consultant, Marianna also coached admissions materials for undergraduate and graduate programs, helping students develop exceptional narratives as they applied to top schools across the country. Marianna has classroom experience from her time as a digital art instructor at the George Washington Carver Museum, where she taught creative classes for students aged 6 to 12. In her free time, Marianna volunteers as a public policy research mentor to undergraduate students at UT.

Educational Philosophy:

"As a tutor, I work to not only strengthen students’ understanding of the subject matter, but to simultaneously help students develop the skills and confidence that will lead to prolonged success both in the classroom and beyond. My objective is to create an encouraging, collaborative environment where students learn to clarify and set goals, ask questions, build healthy study habits, and equip themselves with techniques for approaching difficult problems."

Counseling Philosophy:

"My approach is driven by two core beliefs: with the right support, any student can succeed, and behind every acceptance letter is a series of small wins and daily effort. The admissions process can often feel long and tedious, which is why my goal is to keep clients grounded in tangible progress and thoughtfully problem-solve around barriers as they come up. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, I strive to highlight the qualities that make students stand out and tailor my services to each student’s unique needs and vision."

Interesting Fact:

In high school, Marianna painted murals in Austin through a youth artist development program. You might catch a glimpse of her work at schools and walking trails across the city.
