Teaching/Counseling Experience:
In college, Eleonora realized her passion for studying the intersection of language and politics. Her senior honors thesis was titled "Language Matters: A Linguistic Analysis of Diplomacy and Division," which explored the true meaning of modern political language. While completing her degree, Eleonora was a Teaching Assistant, Orientation Assistant, Research Assistant, and Student Ambassador for the Liberal Arts Honors Program. She also served as President and Mentor for the Liberal Arts Honors Student Council and the Texas Pre-Law Honor Society. These experiences gave her the skills needed to be a strong leader, mentor, and instructor, which she hopes to bring to B2A.
Educational Philosophy:
"I believe the key to being a good teacher is understanding that every student who walks into your classroom is bringing in their own lived experiences, which will impact how they learn and receive information. It is important to meet each student where they are at and appreciate that they each interact with the world in their own way."
Counseling Experience:
Eleonora served as an orientation assistant for the UT Liberal Arts Honors Program three summers in a row, welcoming incoming first-year students and parents. She knows all the worries parents and students have when starting college - from registering for classes and double-majoring to making friends and finding housing - and hopes to use this information to best guide young students to choose the right major, program, and college for them. Additionally, Eleonora served as a Student Ambassador for the Liberal Arts Honors Program at UT, hosting information sessions to inform prospective students of the application process, specifically focused on honors. Given all her experience, Eleonora has helped students ranging from juniors/seniors applying to college up until they are freshmen ready to start college, and as such, knows the ins and outs of college admissions.
Counseling Philosophy:
"As a linguistics major, I know the value of choosing a degree that studies something you are truly passionate about - and the difficulties of finding that path. I believe it is important to help students understand their strengths and weaknesses and explore their interests to find the perfect program for them!"
Interesting Fact:
Eleonora speaks 4 languages (English, Italian, Spanish, and Mandarin), and has Dual Citizenship!
