University of Texas at Austin (B.S. in Chemical Engineering; Minor in Business Foundations)
Teaching Experience:
Chan has experience teaching and mentoring in both academic and community settings. As a Tutor for Engineering Student Services, Chan conducts academic support, working directly with students on core engineering coursework. Through UT Austin's UTeach program, Chan has also taught science lessons to middle school students as part of a science outreach initiative, translating science concepts into engaging, age-appropriate lessons for younger learners.
Educational Philosophy:
"I try to make learning feel less intimidating and more collaborative. Whether I'm tutoring a student through a difficult problem set, or planning the next lesson for students, I focus on clear communication, patience, and creating a space where people feel comfortable asking questions. I want the people I work with to walk away not just understanding the material, but feeling more confident in their own ability to figure things out."
Interesting Fact:
When she's not in class or at an event, Chan loves exploring new spots around Austin and trying different foods. She's always on the hunt for the next hidden gem restaurant or coffee shop!
