Counseling Philosophy:

"The college application process is an opportunity for learning and growth, and I encourage every student to take ownership of this experience. While this process is often fraught with anxiety and pressure, I believe that stress is NOT a prerequisite for success. Instead, I focus on fostering an uplifting and supportive environment where every student is empowered to develop their capacities for writing, self-reflection, research, and analysis. Together, we will develop a strong application that reflects each student's unique experiences and skills. With an eye for detail and an empathetic heart, I look forward to helping my students realize their academic goals."

Katie has six years of experience tutoring a wide range of students in violin, reading, math, and English. In her free time, she volunteers as an ESL tutor for adults.

Educational Philosophy:

"I strongly believe that belief systems about our abilities and potential determine our behavior and predict our success. Therefore, I promote a growth mindset--a model that encourages students to develop their intelligence, embrace challenges, overcome adversity, expand their self-confidence, and achieve higher levels of success and fulfillment from their work."
