Education:

The University of Texas at Dallas (B.S. in Computer Science)

Teaching Experience:

During her summers between school sessions, Nikita tutored Algebra II to incoming high school students, helping them build a strong foundation before starting the new academic year. She developed lesson plans and instructional materials based on their school textbooks to address their specific learning goals and areas of difficulty. Beyond her summer tutoring, Nikita tutors her college peers in subjects such as discrete math, data structures, and writing. Nikita believes that tutoring not only strengthens her own understanding of these subjects, but also allows her to continuously improve her communication and interpersonal skills.

Educational Philosophy:

“Attempting to solve a problem without understanding the concepts behind it is like jumping into a vast ocean without knowing how to swim. I believe that in order to solve problems effectively, one must understand why things are solved the way they are and the different approaches to solving them. Simply memorizing a formula or a definition will not help you gain a deep understanding or interest for what you are learning.”

Interesting Fact:

Nikita’s favorite things to do in her free time are going on hikes in parks and spending time in nature.
