University of Texas at Dallas (B.S. in Physics, Minor in Computer Science)
Teaching/Counseling Experience:
Starting in his sophomore year, Justin was a teaching assistant for honors physics and physics lab courses at UT Dallas. He was also a First Year Leader, where he mentored college freshmen, taught them pertinent skills for excelling in a college environment, and enabled them with resources to expand their personal college experience in meaningful ways. Outside of school, Justin spent a year as Assistant Director at a math tutoring center, where he designed learning plans and tutored math subjects ranging from Algebra I to college-level calculus and physics.
Educational Philosophy:
"Each student’s educational foundation is uniquely shaped by their individual learning journey and the teaching methods they've encountered. I believe that taking the time to understand this foundation is key to finding the explanations and approaches that help them grasp concepts intuitively. My goal is to equip students with the skills to analyze and adapt their own learning process, empowering them to tackle any problem or challenge with confidence in the future."
Counseling Philosophy:
"I believe that each stage of a student's education is an opportunity to explore their interests, develop their strengths, and discover what matters to them. My goal as a counselor is to help students reflect on their academic, extracurricular, and personal experiences and recognize how they have shaped their goals. Through this process, I hope to help students make the most of their educational experiences, and develop the confidence to share their stories through the college application process."
Interesting Fact:
Justin's personal best for solving a Rubik's cube is 19 seconds. He enjoys solving a variety of puzzles, including 2x2 to 5x5 cubes and the pyraminx.
