Counseling Experience:

At WashU, Michelle was an active tutor and mentor of CampusYMCA. She worked with a vast range of secondary-level students within the St. Louis community.  Despite the different goals, backgrounds, and experiences of each student, Michelle successfully provided the necessary individualized guidance and support for students to achieve growth and success. She helped prepare students for college – providing them with insights; giving advice; and suggesting relevant activities and experiences.

Counseling Philosophy: 

“The transition from high school to college is one of the most significant time in one’s life.  Therefore, as the counselor, I will ensure my students receive the necessary guidance and support during the process.  I will share my experience, give great insight and advice so that they are prepared with college, with the application process, and with identifying and planning for their future career-paths.”

Teaching Experience:

Michelle has great experience tutoring from middle school to college students in STEM courses. She has experience working as a university tutor and teaching assistant. Furthermore, Michelle has a state-certified teacher certification for secondary-level Mathematics.​

"I believe that all students are capable of attaining success with the necessary guidance and support. Therefore, as an educator, it is my duty to ensure a positive, enriching learning experience by applying appropriate teaching methods and tools to meet with each student's different learning styles, strengths and weaknesses."​

Interesting Fact:

Michelle's favorite Mathematics topic is Numerical Analysis! She likes baking and playing musical instruments. She is also a graduate from Westlake High School and a former B2A student!
