University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.A. in English Literature: Creative Writing Emphasis; Asian American Studies Certificate)
Counseling Experience:
Kabnpauj has worked with students ranging from pre-kindergarteners to high school seniors. During college, she worked as a student counselor for the Precollege Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence (PEOPLE Program) at UW-Madison, an intensive 2 month long, on-campus educational experience, where she held ACT prep courses and essay editing sessions.
Counseling Philosophy:
“As a first-generation college student, I know first-hand how confusing and daunting the application process can be. My goal is to use the experience and knowledge I have gained to break the process down into manageable steps while also staying available for any questions the students may have.”
Teaching Experience:
Kabnpauj served as a Tutor Coordinator with the Schools of Hope AmeriCorps Project after graduating from university. She was based in 2 Madison Metropolitan Schools where she tutored at-risk elementary students 1-on-1 in literacy and math.
Teaching Philosophy:
"I believe that each student is a unique individual with a specific learning style and therefore deserves a unique approach to teaching. I hope to meet each student where they are at while also providing realistic and measurable goals to help each student to shine in their own way."
Interesting Fact:
Kabnpauj is an avid traveler and spent 3 months WWOOFing through Japan where she lived out of a backpack and ate lots of takoyaki.
